The Story
My dad and I were as close as a father and son could be.
He died unexpectedly in a boating accident. One day he was here, the next he wasn't — and with him went every conversation we hadn't had yet, every piece of advice I'd someday need, every word I'd give anything to hear him say one more time.
When someone you love dies suddenly, the hardest part isn't the things they left behind. It's the things they didn't get to say.
I inherited some of my dad's belongings. They're meaningful, and I'll keep them forever. But none of them can tell me what he was thinking. None of them can speak to me on the day of my wedding, or the birth of a child, or the moments he would have wanted to be there for. A letter in his handwriting could have done all of that.
I built My Words Remain because no one should have to wonder what their person would have said. The letter should already exist. Already be written. Already be waiting — safely stored, carefully kept, and delivered when the time comes.
This isn't just a business for me. It's personal. Every letter we store is someone's dad, someone's mom, someone's husband, someone's grandmother. Every envelope is a promise. And we take that seriously.
If you're reading this and thinking about writing letters for the people you love — please do. Don't wait. Write them now while you're still here to write them. We'll keep them safe. And when the time comes, we'll make sure they arrive.

Our Mission
We believe everyone deserves the chance to leave something behind — not a digital file, not a recorded video, but a real letter, written in your own hand, sealed with your own care. My Words Remain gives you the tools to write those letters today and the promise that they'll be there when the time comes.
Our Promises
These aren't marketing points. They're obligations.
We never open, read, or copy your letters. They are physically sealed when we receive them and remain sealed until delivery. Our staff handles letters only by their outer envelopes.
Letters are stored in a fireproof, climate-controlled facility at optimal temperature and humidity for long-term paper preservation. Every letter is protected in archival-quality acid-free sleeves.
We require documented proof of passing before any letter is released — a certified death certificate or published obituary, verified by our team. No exceptions.
Every year, we reach out to confirm your account is active, your contact information is current, and your letters are still exactly where you left them.
Why a letter?
Personal. Tactile. Impossible to accidentally delete. Survives platform shutdowns, account closures, and format obsolescence.
Dependent on software. Platforms get acquired, storage gets discontinued, formats become unplayable. Digital does not mean permanent.
My Words Remain handles the long-term care so your estate attorney doesn't have to. We specialize in exactly this.
Easily lost, damaged, or never found. No delivery mechanism. No verification. No way to reach someone who's moved.
The hardest part is starting. We've made it as simple as possible.
